Upper (E)

A term used in some of the English place names of Dominica to denote a place that is inland or at a higher elevation in relation to other parts of the same village or area. This is used in the case of Upper Pennville and Lower Pennville or more recently, and less officially, Upper Goodwill and Lower Goodwill. The most easterly lane that cuts across Roseau from north to south is likewise called Upper Lane.
